ANTHRAX（アンスラックス）

BIG4（スラッシュ四天王）のなかで最も音楽的柔軟性を持ち合わせたニューヨーク州出身の5人組。
NWOBHMの影響を受けながらも、早くからファンクなど多ジャンルのビートを取り入れたり、PUBLIC ENEMYとの「Bring The Noise」でのコラボレーションでメタルとラップ／ヒップホップとのミクスチャーを実現したりと音楽的視野の広さは随一。
中心メンバーのサイド・プロジェクト、S.O.D.でもその音楽的視野の広さが十二分に味わえる。
BIG4のなかでは他のバンドとの確執が少なく、橋渡し的な存在でもある。
